The ISJO acts as Secretariat for the Illawarra District Weeds Authority (IDWA) which was established by Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama Councils in 1993. The Authority represents an activity under the ISJO function of "regional service delivery" as it is a joint venture of three of the four ISJO Councils, delegated to deliver regulatory services of the Councils, on their behalf, to the communities of all three Council areas. It also provides some fee-for-service functions and proceeds from this assist in funding the Authority's core activities.
The Authority is managed by an Advisory Committee whose members can access information regarding the meetings by logging in on this site.
The new public Illawarra Weeds website is now available and can be accessed by clicking here.
