The Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO) today welcomed the NSW Government’s pre-budget announcement of funding to progress the upgrade of Picton Road.
"The announcement is in response to calls for the upgrade by the Picton Road Motorway Coalition; a collaboration between business and the ISJO Councils established by the Illawarra Business Chamber to build support for the project and build evidence for the need," said ISJO Chair Gordon Bradbery AM.
“Thirty companies across the business community, led by the Illawarra Business Chamber, and the four councils that comprise ISJO have proven that working together delivers outcomes. Collaboration has never been more important as we look for growth across the wider Illawarra and south-western Sydney to deliver important outcomes for generations to come.
“We thank everyone involved in the Picton Road Motorway Coalition for the evidence-based advocacy and leadership on this important infrastructure.
“We congratulate the NSW Government on the first step in the process,” Mr Bradbery said.
“We also acknowledge the support from Nathaniel Smith MP for progressing this issue within government, together with the bipartisan support of Ryan Park MP and Paul Scully MP in working together for the greater good of our region.”
ISJO is a proud partner of the Picton Road Motorway Coalition.
